I’ve been after a 10 stop ND filter for a long time now and with my recent birthday money I decided to finally go for it, purchasing myself a Haida Pro II 82mm filter for my Sigma 10-20mm lens. I got it just in time for a trip to Pembrokeshire.

We went to a place called Marloes Sands which turned out to be a nice location for the 10 stop type of photography. It was a glorious sunny day and the beach was strewn with rocks. I grabbed my tripod and gear and scrambled over the rocks to find a spot to have a go with my new toy.

I didn’t realise at the time that the tide was on its way back in… I nearly got stranded on the wrong side of a big shard of rocks, splitting myself off from the main beach. A bit of emergency scrambling got me back, but time was short for photography purposes. I had to grab my camera and tripod a couple of times to keep it from toppling into the onrushing waters.
